21 ft Basic Kit (WP-21-2) - This kit is intended as a super-sturdy point and shoot kit. Pros: The basic ingredients for elevated photography. Cons: No resting plate. Without a resting plate, you will need
to lower the pole very carefully. You ought to consider lowering the pole sections while it is upright and/or not fully extended the pole. If you lower the pole horizontally and you are unable to
maintain precise control, your camera may hit the ground and be damaged.
21 ft 3-Piece Kit (WP-21-3) - This kit is a full kit for use with a point and shoot camera or DSLR that has a short, stubby lens. Pros: It has a resting plate to provide an extra measure of safety
when lowering the pole horizontally. Cons: The resting plate is a standard plate, so you cannot use it with a DSLR with a large lens.
21 ft Pro Kit Complete (WP-21-Pro) - This provides you with everything you need to shoot pole photos with a DSLR. Cons: The pole extends to 21 feet. This is high enough for most elevated photography
shots including events, real estate, sports, etc., but unless you have a need to go higher, this is a great choice.
40 ft 3-Piece Kit (WP-40-3) - This kit is a full kit for use with a point and shoot camera or DSLR that has a short, stubby lens. Pros: It has a resting plate to provide an extra measure of safety
when lowering the pole horizontally. Cons: The resting plate is a standard plate, and so it offers only limited value with a DSLR with a large lens. Please note safety issues below.
40 ft Super Kit (WP-Super) - This provides you with everything you need to shoot pole photos with a DSLR at lower heights or a point and shoot at taller heights. Pros: It comes with a large resting
plate for use with DSLRs at lower heights, and a smaller, lighter standard resting plate for use with a point and shoot at taller heights. Please note safety issues below.
Important Safety Notes: Wonderpoles ® are extremely strong poles, and this is described on their web site.
While the pole may not break, one can nevertheless create a dangerous situation by putting more weight on the
pole than one can effectively control. Once a pole is extended beyond 20 feet, it becomes increasingly tricky to control. Substantial counterweights and other safety measures are
essential. You should practice operating the pole in a safe location until you are competent at controlling it before placing expensive camera equipment on it. And, remember, when you raise your pole, you must be able to control it if there are any people, cars, or other objects within the strike zone as great injury can occur to such if you should lose control. Just because you CAN extend a Wonderpole to amazing
heights does not mean that you SHOULD extend it to those heights if you will create a unsafe set of circumstances. Safety should be first, getting the photograph should be secondary.
